The Culture Code releases the secrets of some of the best teams in the world, from Pixar and Google to the US Navy Seals. Author, Daniel Coyle explains three skills such groups have mastered to generate trust and a willingness to collaborate. His book combines cutting-edge science, on-the-ground insight and practical ideas for action. The Culture Code offers a roadmap for creating an environment where innovation flourishes, problems are solved, and expectations are exceeded.

I particularly like how the culture code dives deeply into three skills; building safety, sharing vulnerability, and establishing purpose. With each skill, author Daniel Coyle starts with an in-depth explanation and provides real-life creative examples. He describes how to build each skill in a group setting and concludes each with ‘ideas for action’. I found this one of the most applicable books to coaching as it was both well-written and easy to understand. It is full of little tips and tricks that any coach can start using today!

Leslie’s favourite quote: “Culture is a set of living relationships working toward a shared goal.”
