Steph Currie has an astounding skiing history. She grew up skiing at Osler Bluff Ski Club and then competed as a FIS athlete for a decade, including three years on the Ontario Ski Team, four years at Dartmouth College, and three years back on the Ontario Ski Team. Her other successes include representing Canada at the 2018 World Junior Championships and being recognized as a prospective competitor in the 2022 Beijing Olympics before an untimely injury.
Not just an exceptional athlete, Steph has also embarked on an impressive coaching journey while tackling post-secondary education. Her pursuit of an MBA, a sign of her ongoing focus and commitment to excellence in academics and athletics, distinguishes her from other contenders.
Steph’s transition from an Entry-Level trained coach to a Performance Level certification, with the help of a Coaching Association of Canada and Game Plan-funded grant, is quite remarkable. She oversees the U16 team at Osler Bluff while offering substantial assistance to the women’s Ontario Ski team during NorAm activities. Steph personifies AWiS‘s support for female athletes to take on coaching responsibilities, saying, “We can pave the way for a future where girls become inspirational coaches.”
